Commitment to our business operations

We start with ourselves by reducing our CO₂ and resource consumption wherever possible and offsetting emissions where necessary.

Photovoltaics The photovoltaic (PV) system on the W&W Campus buildings and the two multi-storey car parks with an area of 4070 m² generates around 830 MWh of electricity per year. Under optimal conditions, the PV system can achieve a maximum output of 850 MWh of electricity per year.

E-mobility We have added electric and hybrid vehicles to our company car fleet, and these now make up over 25% of the fleet. Our multi-storey car parks have sufficient charging points for employees’ private vehicles and company cars.

Saving energy We operate the W&W Campus buildings with significantly lower energy consumption compared to the old office buildings at the Feuersee and Ludwigsburg sites. The area is equipped with economical LED lighting throughout. The majority of the roofs are green.

Carbon-neutral heating The system for heating, cooling and ventilating the spaces is close to carbon neutral. A wood chip system provides heating. A heat exchanger recovers heat from the air conditioning system. A heat pump converts the waste heat from the data centre.

Concrete core activation The ceilings of the W&W Campus buildings store thermal energy, providing heating or cooling to each room. Together with mechanical ventilation, this forms a holistic and sustainable climate control system.

Sustainable buildings

The first construction phase of the W&W Campus was awarded the Gold certificate of the DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council). The economic, functional and ecological aspects of the buildings, such as the efficient air conditioning concept or the design of the green spaces, were examined. DGNB certification is also being sought for the second construction phase.

Sustainable gastronomy

Our company restaurant on the W&W Campus was certified as a “GreenCanteen” after being evaluated against more than 100 individual criteria. The corresponding label recognises canteens for their resolute commitment to environmental friendliness and sustainability. We are constantly adapting our range accordingly. Regionality and organic certification play a central role. The range also includes numerous vegetarian and vegan options at five themed counters.
